I LOVE the whole L’Oreal Caresse line and have most of the colours but this I think is my favourite. It does have a lilac tinge but not so much that’s TOO much, I’m not a big fan of pale pinks on me that are too blue toned (think Angel from MAC) but this is just right and the sheer glossy finish is just a bonus.
It gives you what I like to call ‘Scarlett Johansson lips’, soft and kissable looking with zero definition. They just look plump and for use of no better word – juicy, Scarlett Johansson lips! Anyone with me? I also have Sweet Berry and Nude Ingenue from the line all of which are a variation on neutral so if you like this but prefer something a little different I’d recommend you check those out, they’re all very similar until you get in to the ‘brights’ which are still lovely but don’t give the same the SJL effect.
Lastly I want to touch on the packaging.. so much more expensive looking than your average ‘drugstore’ lipstick and I think perhaps what drew me to make the purchase. I’m of the opinion that this is what the Revlon Lip Butter’s should have been, sheer and glossy with a balmy feel and a hint of colour – this is why I was so disappointed when they finally arrived. I found them to be streaky and sticky and though everyone disagreed I stand by my initial feelings, by comparison to this luscious lip product they are.. that being said they are a totally different animal and great in their own way. I do prefer these though.
